The Digital Media program is a two-year vocational university program focusing on creativity, strategy and production within digital and interactive media. The program has a high reputation among world leading agencies. It graduates students for a future career as a designer, developer or a project/production manager.
The program offers 90 points within the AVET-system (Advanced Vocational Education & Training), which is free of charge for all persons fluent in any of the following Scandinavian languages (Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Icelandic, Faeroese) regardless of nationality or citizenship, and YH (AVET) entitles inhabitants in Sweden (and, in some cases, EU and EES) to student loan funds. English speaking persons regardless of nationality or citizenship can apply to Digital Media as private-paying Diploma Program students. (See our tuition fee page.) The main focus of the program is to educate people for the digital media industry. The Digital Media program should be seen as an education with three pathways being Design, Management and Technology, with a clear common platform and co-operation. A strong emphasis of the program is for the students to develop a holistic approach to the industry, as well as developing more advanced skills within a chosen area. ![]() The program is project- and process-oriented and mixes academic and practical work throughout the course. It is based on "action learning" (learning-by-doing and learning-by-reflection) and is built on actual projects.
During the first year students work in about 10-12 different modules (projects). Applied within the modules are knowledge about business, information system design and technology, project management and production coordination, visual and market communication, brand management, quality assurance, creativity, social science, graphic design, databases and programming. For detailed content please read the curriculum. After the first year of the program students work in a three month project, where they have the possibility to obtain deeper knowledge within certain areas. The final 30 weeks are spent in industrial placements (internship). This is a great opportunity to learn and get connections within actual companies.
